Today we read a couple of stories about Columbus and talked about them. We read a new story in our phonics reader and discussed adding "s" to words and how it changes the words meaning. This week we will be concentrating on the long "i" sound. We will continue to develop our reading skills. We began our unit on geometry last week and will continue to work in this area. In religion, we will talk about being a child of God and learning and growing. We also talked about two different kinds of bats in connection with our Time For Kids article last week. We are discussing living and nonliving things as well.
Thursday is our field trip on fire safety to the state fairgrounds. The children are to wear their school uniforms. If the girls wear a jumper please make sure they wear shorts underneath.
